Nike Mercurial Vapor
The Mercurial line began in 1998 with the boot Ronaldo Nazário wore at the World Cup in France, and the Vapor became its low-cut, no-collar expression from 2002 onwards. Every generation has chased the same brief: the lightest possible boot that still holds up at full sprint. Along the way that has meant carbon-fibre soleplates, Flyknit and Vaporposite+ uppers with a grippy micro-textured finish, and a Zoom Air unit under the forefoot for energy return. The Vapor has been worn by Ronaldo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé, Vinícius Jr and Haaland.
